In Q2 2021, the top 5 tools apps in Italy saw varied performance trends across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

VPN & Antivirus by Kaspersky experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 8.1K at the beginning of April and dropping to around 3.8K by the end of June. Weekly revenue showed a slight downward trend, peaking at $6.1K in late March and settling around $4.4K by the end of June. The app's active users also saw a decline, from 86K in late March to about 69K in late June.

Avast Antivirus & Security demonstrated a mixed performance. Weekly downloads peaked at 15.7K in mid-April, followed by fluctuations and ending at 8.6K in late June. Revenue peaked at $3.9K in late April and then decreased to about $2.8K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 270K mark throughout the quarter.

AVG AntiVirus & Security saw a peak in weekly downloads at 12.2K in mid-April, followed by a decline to around 6.3K by the end of June. Revenue trends mirrored this, peaking at $3.1K and then decreasing to approximately $2.7K. However, active users showed resilience, maintaining around 170K by the end of the quarter.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy had a fluctuating download pattern, starting at 5.8K in late March and ending at around 5.9K in late June. Revenue peaked at $4.6K in early May and then decreased to about $3.1K by the end of June. Active users showed a positive trend, increasing from 59K to around 63K.

ESET Mobile Security Antivirus showed a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at 1.4K in late March and reaching 2.4K by the end of June. Revenue, however, remained relatively stable, fluctuating around $1K. Active users also saw a positive trend, increasing from approximately 10K to 10.1K by the end of June.
